Translating my thoughts into images.

Antietam

On mother’s day we met my mother and my 93 year old grandmother just over the Potomac River in West Virginia. On the way home we stopped at the Antietam battlefield. My daughter loves history and we had recently gone to Gettysburg. While at Gettysburg I dropped my D7000 so I only had my iPhone 4S with me at Antietam. We also went to the top of the observation tower, that was built in 1896. The image below is taken from the tower looking directly down.

The “featured image” of this post was edited in “Snapspeed” on the iPad. I am not terribly sure if I like these extreme effects on images, but in this case I thought it capture the oncoming, ominous clouds and the sense that this was a place were tragic events happened.
